Part of this presentation will be to introduce the wide scope of astrophotography avenues open to the amateur photography enthusiast. Although much of the hobby is focused on deep sky targets, there are many other very satisfying aspects of photographing the night sky requiring far less specialized equipment and training. In addition to deep sky, we will give an overview at making skyscapes, star trails, constellations, photographing the Sun, Moon, Planets, Northern Lights, eclipses, meteor showers and comets.
For the camera club members, we will put a special emphasis on how to use a typical DSLR camera/lenses in manual mode on a tripod to capture many of these unique objects. Additionally, we will highlight using a SeeStar digital smart scope as an entryway into imaging the night sky (Thanks Don Schuenemann). Weather permitting a live demo on site will be provided.
Resources for additional information/study will be provided to attendees.
